In 2007 I was working for one of the largest and most successful hedge funds.

I was entrusted to help manage money for large institutional clients and pension funds.

If I did well, the clients did well, the firm did well and our billionaire owner got wealthier.

Fast forward to late 2008, when the Great Recession really made its presence felt.
